Greca Taína was born from a dream, a second chance, and a deep love for my Caribbean roots.

My name is Jose Rivera my family call me Junito and I am better know as June. I was born in Puerto Rico to a Dominican mother, and coffee has always been more than just a drink in my family—it's how we welcome guests, celebrate milestones, and bring people together.

In October 2023, my life changed forever when I underwent open-heart surgery. Facing such a life-changing experience gave me a new perspective. It reminded me that tomorrow isn't promised and that if I wanted to pursue my dream of owning a coffee business, the time was now.

That's how Greca Taína came to life.

The name Greca represents the iconic stovetop espresso maker found in homes throughout Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and across Latin America. It's a symbol of tradition, family, and the simple moments shared over a fresh cup of coffee.

Taína honors the Taíno people—the Indigenous inhabitants of the Caribbean whose culture, traditions, and influence continue to shape our islands today. Through Greca Taína, I hope to celebrate their legacy and help introduce more people to the rich history of the Taíno culture, one cup of coffee at a time.
